Silicone! Used Klean Klay to make the shapes, which you can re-use like plasticine. Doesn't take so well to heat though. This silicone is pourable, i couldn't get any higher viscosity and still have it transparent. I did 2 coats here, but i think i could layer as many coats as i wanted - the silicone is so strong i would only need a really thin layer. The shapes are quite cloudy, and the mess around the bottom almost acts as water! It certainly distorts. The main problem is all the tiny air bubbles in the stuff on the bottom, which you need a vacuum thing to remove. I think i could overcome this with really thin layers of the silicone built up - if it were to go against the flesh instead of as a water-filled bubble, it would still have to be molded to the shape of the flesh. This would mean i would also have control of each layer, hopefully meaning i could create interesting distortions. This is the best stuff ever!
